If you are looking for a historical wedding venue in north Florida you must consider Lightner Museum in St. Augustine. If you’re not planning a wedding and just being an awesome human taking in the sights of the oldest city then you must visit anyways. The Lightner Museum is a museum of antiquities, mostly American Gilded Age pieces, housed within the historic Hotel Alcazar building in downtown St. Augustine. This 1887 Spanish Renaissance Revival style building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. They recently had the Downton Abbey exhibit (yes I”m a fangirl!) and it was a blast. If you are looking for a venue you won’t be disappointed with their ceremony grounds or reception hall. Kaley and Trevor had to change their date suddenly due to deployment orders. So they decided to only have their ceremony in the courtyard and a white tent, lakeside reception at her childhood home.

After talking for a month Kaley and Trevor decided to go out on a date. They met at her house and realized that they actually only lived a few hundred feet away from each other. They both loved stand up comedies. So naturally they watched one that night and both fell asleep. The next day they decided to adopt a sweet kitten, Reed Bradshaw, and that is when sparks hit and they knew they were meant for each other. Two weeks later Trevor moved and in February Kaley took Trevor to St. Augustine for the first time. They happened to walk to the Lightner Museum. She made a comment that this was the place she wanted to get married. Trevor turned to her and said “really? How soon?” and then he asked me if her if she would marry him. She brushed it off and said yes. But later that night, he told her he was serious. That he wanted to marry her, and that he has never been so sure of something in his life. So they choose a date, right then and there.
