It’s difficult for me to not get emotional when I look back at Ashley & Micah’s wedding day. You see, their wedding is a perfect example of why I am honored to be each couple’s photographer. Capturing these photos to last generations to come. To keep it short, Ashley’s father was terminally ill, he died just 3 months after the wedding. After he passed they texted me with a deep appreciation for the photos we captured during their wedding day. We didn’t just focus the pictures on just them but on their family and guest as well. By doing this we also captured moments that would go beyond just a memory of the wedding day. For instance, Ashley’s father uses to link his pinky with hers since she was a child. Without knowing this we captured it organically happening during the reception.
There were many sweet moments throughout the day as well. The bear you see in the first couple of photos Micah got for them on their first day and the bear has been apart of every special moment of their lives.
The ring. The diamond in the ring is from Ashley’s mother. When Micah asked for Ashley’s hand in marriage to her father he gifted it to them. (Cue the tears).
My favorite moment was the father-daughter dance. Not a single dry eye in the house as they danced. Not even ours. The emotions from the guest were so strong and as we knew the situation ourselves it was also hard to focus as I cried, my arms even started to shake.
